Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, received the Cuban ambassador, Lianys Torres Rivera, at the end of her mission in this country.
Xuan Phuc affirmed that the Vietnamese people have very much in mind the phrase of the historical leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to give even its own blood", and that Vietnam will always be at Cuba's side.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Cuban Government for sending medical experts to help Vietnam cope with the Covid-19 pandemic.
For her part, the ambassador thanked the Vietnamese government for its contributions to the national food security program and for organizing a special flight in which donations were transferred to support the Cuban people's fight against the pandemic.
The diplomat congratulated Vietnam for its success in the control and prevention of Covid-19, as well as for its performance as president of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations this 2020.
