The announcement of the state visit to Cuba by the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (VCP), Nguyen Phu Trong, was headline on Vietnamese national media.
The Vietnamese News Agency (VNA) published a note on the visit of the leader of the VCP to the Caribbean country between the 28th and 30th of the current month, in response to an invitation from the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Raúl Castro Ruz.
Other national media such as the media corporation La Voz de Vietnam (VOV) and Vietnam Television (VTV) echoed the announcement, which was also reflected in the digital page of Nhan Dan, official organ of the VCP, and in VGPnews, the electronic publication of the Vietnamese Government.
The last visit to Cuba by the general secretary of the VCP, Nguyen Phu Trong, took place in 2012, when he met with the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and he was conferred the order José Martí, the highest distinction that granted by the Cuban State.
