Visit to the Abuja Chamber of Commerce

Abuja, March 13, 2024.- Miriam Morales Palmero, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Nigeria, held a productive meeting with Mr. Emeka Obegolu, who was sworn in as the 12th President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce (ACCI), last February 8.

During the meeting, the main pending issues between Havana and Abuja were addressed with the aim of implementing an action plan to promote exchange between both countries. Likewise, the common interests shared by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce with its counterpart in Cuba were discussed.

The Cuban ambassador Miriam Morales took the opportunity to convey the official invitation to the president of the chamber Mr. Obegole to participate in the 40th Edition of the Havana International Fair, which will take place next November in Cuba.

Abuja Chamber of commerce is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, member-funded organization solely representing the common interests of the business community and focused primarily on putting the interest of businesses in the FCT first. The Chamber is privately funded by corporations, foundations and members and therefore her energies are directed by the views and input from this community.

Presently, Abuja Chamber of commerce has formed alliances with business leaders, trade associations, sister chambers, government agencies, & foreign embassies to accomplish its goals of enhancing the sustainable growth and development of businesses in the FCT. The Chamber is a growing body whose broad based vision and mission is to develop a more enterprising, vibrant and diverse economy, strengthen local businesses and enterprises, attract investment, share prosperity and create better employment opportunities in the community.

Mr. Emeka was accompanied by his Director General, Mr. Agabaidu Chukwuemeka Jideani, and other executive and commercial directors of the company.

Third Secretary Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot was present on the Cuban side.
