Abuja, June 13, 2024.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Miriam Morales Palmero held a meeting with Director of Regions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Janet Olisa.
During the meeting, important topics of bilateral interest were addressed, such as the arrival of the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Bilateral Relations between both countries and the need to continue strengthening the cooperative relations that exist between the people of Cuba and Nigeria.
Among the topics addressed, Ambassador Miriam Morales made reference to the situation that Cuba was going through due to the tightening of the blockade and the unilateral measures of the United States government towards the island, among them the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that They allegedly sponsor terrorism. She conveyed the feelings of the Cuban people and the struggle they were waging in order to maintain their sovereignty and independence.
For her part, the Director of the Department of Regions thanked her for the visit and maintained that the relations between both countries are historical and brotherly.
The Third Secretary of the Embassy, Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot, was present on the Cuban side.
