The member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of External Relations of ZANU PF, Mr. Simbarashe Mumbengegwi attended the Embassy of Cuba in Harare, to express his deepest condolences for the accident that occurred in the emblematic Saratoga Hotel, which caused the loss of 45 lives.
The Zimbabwean party leader also lamented the physical disappearance of Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada. He cataloged the prominent Cuban politician as a brother and revolutionary comrade in arms. He recalled the memorable times of exchanges in the United Nations. Simbarashe Mumbengegwi stated “Cuba has lost one of the most eloquent and committed cadres of the revolution. He was not only an unflinching defender of the Cuban revolution, but also of the revolutionary aspirations of the developing world.”
