Many thanks, I’m grateful to you all for being here. I have to report that Washington has decided to exclude the Republic of Cuba from the preparations for the 9th Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles on 8th to 10th June and is presently exerting extreme pressures on numerous governments in the region which, privately and respectfully, oppose our exclusion.

Cuban FM praises global clamor against US blockade

Havana, April 24 

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Sunday described global clamor against US blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years as overwhelming.

On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister referred to the success of the call by Bridges of Love solidarity initiative, led by Cuban-American Carlos Lazo, in different parts of the world.

Bridges of love with our people are multiplying worldwide, Bruno Rodríguez tweeted, who stressed that “friends, compatriots and solidarity bodies call for the end of the policy that stifles Cuba´s development.”

Letter from Cuban-Americans urges Biden to reverse measures against Cuba

On April 22, 2022, the Cuban Americans for Engagement (CAFE) organization, as well as individuals and other organizations of people of Cuban descent, published a letter to President Biden in which they urge him to reverse the policies towards Cuba imposed by the government of Donald Trump.

The signatories emphasized the need to eliminate restrictions on travel and remittances, aspects that harm the Cuban American community and their families in the country.

Cuba and the United States hold round of migration talks in Washington D.C.

Migration talks between Cuba and the United States were held in Washington D.C. on April 21, 2022. The delegations were presided over by Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Deputy Foreign Minister, and Emily Mendrala, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs respectively.

Both delegations reviewed compliance with the Bilateral Migration Accords as well as the mutual commitment to ensure a regular, safe and orderly migration.

Girón, a perpetual warning to our enemies

Matanzas.–It seems that Girón was recorded in the homeland’s history as a permanent warning to those who dream of taking possession of Cuba.
As time passes, the lesson left by the victory achieved in the Ciénaga de Zapata, along the Bay of Pigs in the southern reaches of Matanzas, becomes even more evident. Our indomitable people were able to confront and defeat the invaders, despite the much greater power of their weapons and imperialist support.
