Havana, April 6
A new edition of the Agricultural Business Conference between Cuba and the United States was inaugurated here on Wednesday to strengthen bilateral trade and joint production between both countries' agricultural sectors.
Amid the tightening of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and the effects of two years of pandemic, the development of agriculture is a strategic need for Cuba and thus, this conference is vital, president of the Cuban agricultural business group, Frank Castañeda, said.
Both institutions thus joined the celebrations on the 60th anniversary of the Young Communist League (UJC) and the 61st anniversary of the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization (OPJM).
In its letter, the president of the National People’s Power Assembly, Esteban Lazo, noted the role of new generations in the different sectors of the country and the defense of revolutionary principles.
