Open letter in US newspaper calls for change in policy towards Cuba

Washington, June 3rd 

An open letter published in the US newspaper "The San Francisco Examiner" urged President Joe Biden to change his policy towards Cuba and reverse measures that tightened the blockade during the Donald Trump administration.

“Let Cuba Live!” expressed in the letter voters and interested persons from the San Francisco Bay area addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, California Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

US singer Barbara Dane received the Friendship Medal in Cuba

The renowned American blues and jazz singer Barbara Dane received today in Cuba the Friendship Medal for her support to the Revolution and her defense of the just causes.

From Casa de las Américas, in this capital, his son, the artist Pablo Menéndez, collected the distinction awarded by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), in the presence of the presidents of both entities: intellectual Abel Prieto and Cuban Hero Fernando González, respectively.

Initiatives in the US as part of day against the blockade

Cuban president praises supportive work of Bridges of Love

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Monday praised the supportive work of the Bridges of Love project regarding the donation given by that organization to the program of liver transplants in children in Cuba.

On his official Twitter account, the president wrote that “Carlos Lazo and his Bridges of Love in Cuba, with medicines for children awaiting transplants, confirm that love defeats hatred. Solidarity is the most beautiful act of love for humankind.”
