The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez, received this morning, at the diplomatic headquarters executives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of St. Kitts and Nevis to discuss business opportunities between the two countries.
The revolutionary government condemns the continuance for over 60 years of the economic, commercial and financial sanctions formally imposed by the United States on 3rd February 1962. On that date, the then president, John F. Kennedy, issued Proclamation 3447, “Embargo on All Trade with Cuba” under Section 620(a) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. He thereby conferred official status on the unilateral economic hostilities already in effect against Cuba since our country’s revolutionary victory.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, was received this morning by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation, Ms.Kaye Bass.
The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture of this country, Honorable Jonel Powell.The positive meeting made it possible to confirm the good state of fundamental cooperation in the field of Education, evidenced by the mutual interest in continuing to strengthen and expand the traditional bond, through the development of other areas of work.
The Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Honorable Dr. Timothy Harris, received on Tuesday morning the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, at the seat of the Government of this brotherly country.
