The General Director of the OECS reaffirms solidarity with Cuba and requests its exclusion from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

The ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity between Cuba and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) were once again reaffirmed during the recent activity to bid farewell to Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas, accredited to the Organization's Commission and resident in Saint Lucia.

The General Director of the OECS, Dr. Didacus Jules, intervened in an emotional speech to highlight the ties of love and belonging to the same family between the Organization and Cuba, which he described as unshakeable.

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel sent two messages of congratulations for the 42nd anniversary of Saint Lucia's independence to His Excellency, the Governor General, Sir Emmanuel Neville Cenac and to the Honorable Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.  In the messages, which were sent through the diplomatic channel of the Embassy of Cuba, the Cuban President was pleased to send warm wishes and congratulations because of this important historical date and at the same time wishing peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Saint Lucia and their Govern

Two important political figures from Saint Lucia, who served as the highest representatives of their state and government, conveyed support for the nomination of the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize. His Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, former Governor General, and Honorable Dr Kenny Anthony, former Prime Minister and current Member of the House of Assembly, joined the campaign launched by the Humanistic Solidarity Association Saint Lucia - Cuba to give this high recognition to the Henry Reeve Brigade.
