The Cuban nurse, resident in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Arianna Israel-Taylor, a member of the Heberprot-P team at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, attended the International Congress "Controlling Diabetes and Its most severe complications," held in December 2016 at the Hotel Melia Marina Convention Center in Varadero.
The National Assembly of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines held a special session on Thursday, December 8, at its headquarters, dedicated to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
In the afternoon of December 4, an act of remembrance and tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz was held at the Cuban Embassy in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in which participated the Cuban residents, a representation of Cuban collaborators in health care, the Ambassador of Venezuela, H.E Yuri Pimentel and the officials of that diplomatic mission, as well as the H.E Dexter Rose, former Ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in Cuba.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines/Cuba friendship Society joins with the rest of the international community in mourning the loss of the incomparable Commandante Fidel Castro Ruz, and with progressive mankind in paying tribute to his tremendous contribution to the development of his country, Cuba, the Caribbean, and countries too numerous to mention in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Cuba's Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, met with the Permanent Secretary of the Vincentian Ministry of health, welfare and environment, Mr. Louis de Shong, and his team of Directors.
