The Secretary General of the Danish United Nations Association, Torleif Jonasson, received today a courtesy visit of the Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas. During the meeting both discussed, among other topics, the impact of the US blockade against Cuba and the significant damages it has caused to the Cuban people for almost six decades.
A Cuban delegation headed by the President of Grupo Empresarial Ganadero (GEGAN), Norberto Espinosa, developed a working visit to Denmark from 24-28 September, aimed at promoting in that country the opportunities of investment in the sector of pig farming on the Island. The delegation was also integrated by the Head of Department of Business and Collaboration of GEGAN, Jorge E. Blanco, and the Corporate Director of CORALSA, Ambrosio Ramos, with the support of the Cuban Embassy in Denmark, who carried out an intensive working program.
During the 35th Congress of the Danish Communist Party celebrated on September 22 and 23 in Copenhagen, the genocidal blockade policy imposed by the US government against Cuba for almost six decades was rejected. In support of the Cuban people in the struggle for the lifting of this illegal policy, the president of the Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship Sven-Erik Simonsen called on all participants to join the marches against the blockade that will be held simultaneously in five cities of Denmark: Copenhagen, Odense, Kolding, Aarhus and Esbjerg.
