Copenhagen- The International Day of Mother Earth "Pachamama" was celebrated on April 22nd in Copenhagen between traditional ceremonies, speeches and cultural performances of indigenous people. The Ambassadors of Bolivia, Venezuela and Cuba to Denmark attended to the celebration, where they strongly called for global solidarity and unity to save humanity.
In the context of the Latin American and the Caribbean cinema exhibition hosted by Casa Latinoamericana in this capital from 4 to 7 April, the Danish public had the opportunity to appreciate the quality of the Cuban cinematographic production through the screening of the film "Scent of Oak", directed by Rigoberto López and which has been internationally awarded in several occasions. Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited and Cuban residents in Denmark also attended to the event.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 48th anniversary of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP, branch Denmark), which took place on Saturday, April 1, the Palestinian Ambassador to this European country, Dr. Muffed Shami, highlighted the historical solidarity provided Cuba has provided to his people, and in particular stressed the friendship and unconditional support given by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, to the Palestinian cause, to which he dedicated very moving words due to his death on November 25th last.
In the context of the Master's degree program "Global Tourism Development" offered by the University of Aalborg, campus Copenhagen, the Cuban Ambassador to Denmark was invited to the presentation of the projects developed by a group of students on the theme "Sustainable Tourism Development in Cuba ". The discussion took place on March 30th and projects were focused on the area of Viñales, Pinar del Río.
Copenhagen- The Danish-Cuban Friendship Association, in its annual Assembly held on Saturday, March 25, paid tribute to Fidel Castro, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. Its members also reaffirmed their solidarity with Cuba and their commitment to continue advocating for the lifting of the unfair blockade imposed to the Island. The plenary also approved a statement highlighting the Cuban government's offer of a thousand scholarships to study medicine to the Colombian government and FARC-EP, as a contribution to the peace process in Colombia.
