Grulac distinguished Cuba for its work in Finland

A nice meeting, organized by the Ambassador of Uruguay in Finland, HE. Mrs. Alejandra Bellis, was held at the beginning of the farewell activities of her Cuban counterpart, Beatriz Parra González. The ambassadors of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (Grulac) residing in Helsinki, also present in this space, gave the Caribbean diplomat a souvenir on behalf of the group that she has coordinated in the last year. In her words, the Uruguayan representative highlighted the work of Cuba as coordinator of Grulac in the promotion and visibility of the Latin American and Caribbean region in Finland.

Cuba congratulates Estonia on the occasion of its National Holiday

"Cuba congratulates the people and government of the Republic of Estonia on the occasion of its National Day," says the official site of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cubaminrex. The greeting message that was also widely disseminated through its users on social networks adds "we ratify our willingness to continue expanding relations between our nations." President Miguel Díaz-Canel also sent a letter to his Estonian counterpart, President Alar Karis, in which he shares greetings for the National Day and expresses interest in advancing bilateral ties. The Republic of Estonia celebrates the 107th Anniversary of its Independence this February 24 and to this end it has prepared an extensive program of activities, among which the traditional military parade and the raising of the flag at Pompea Castle stand out.

The government of the United States implements a policy of maximum pressure against Cuba, thus causing a deterioration in the national consumption, incomes and the living standards of Cuban families. The economic blockade is the cause of inflation, low availability of fuels, foodstuffs, medicines and seriously impairs the electricity service. It prevents the full enjoyment of the rights to food, culture and education, which the State provides either free of charge or heavily subsidized. We thank the 123 States which, back in July last, made their statements in this Council against Cuba’s inclusion in the State Department’s spurious List of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

Cuba pays tribute to the founding father of Namibia in Finland

The Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, reiterated from Finland the message of condolences to the Government, people and family of the founding father of Namibia, Sam Nujoma, upon his recent physical departure. In a subsequent meeting with the distinguished Ambassador HE Mr. Charles B. Jobson, the historical ties that unite both countries were confirmed, due to the brotherhood between their historical leaders Fidel Castro and Sam Nujoma, and the support for the just causes of the two nations, such as the defense against the blockade of Cuba. The Cuban diplomat thanked her for her heartfelt message and took advantage of the moment to share the Island's gratitude for the recent declaration against the blockade adopted by the African Union in its most recent meeting.

President Díaz-Canel thanked the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba for their support

On Tuesday night, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, thanked the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba for all the support provided, and recognized them "for the work they do representing their governments and their people in our country." As every year, the Head of State received more than a hundred diplomats working on the Island at the Palace of the Revolution, a moment that, he considered, "is a space for dialogue, for exchange, and that contributes to strengthening relations with each of the countries.
