Fruitful academic exchange between the Fidel Castro Ruz Center and the Cuba Research Forum of the University of Nottingham

London 14/02/2025. As part of the academic agreements, a delegation of the Fidel Castro Center held an enriching exchange with the Center for Research on Cuba - Cuba Research Forum of the University of Nottingham. Aleida Guevara: If we join forces nothing can stop us

London, February 3. - When people raise their voices for a just cause, they grow as human beings, and that is something we owe to the Palestinian people", said Dr. Aleida Guevara March, during her speech at the Annual General Assembly of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in the United Kingdom. Invited by the trade union group Cuba Solidarity Campaign, Aleida is participating in a series of meetings in several British cities with solidarity organizations, trade unions, students and parliamentarians.

Cuba rejects U.S. decision to incarcerate migrants in the Guantanamo Naval Base

Cuba rejects the decision announced by the President of the United States to use the Guantanamo Naval Base to imprison tens of thousands of migrants he has proposed to forcibly expel. It is a demonstration of the brutality with which that government is acting to supposedly correct problems created by the economic and social conditions of that country, the government's own management and its foreign policy, including hostility towards countries of origin.

Cuban Ambassador attends UNISON South West Regional Council meetings

On 24 and 25 February, the Cuban Ambassador to the UK, Her Excellency Ismara Vargas Walter, attended a series of important events in Exeter organised by UNISON South West and the Cuba Solidarity Campaign. These events aimed to strengthen solidarity between the UK and Cuba by bringing together trade union leaders, regional councillors and members of the public.

The Ambassador's visit began with a fringe meeting and reception. The meeting was attended by the UNISON South West Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Secretary and around 50 people.

As part of the close and fluid relations with the Vatican, the Government of Cuba has remained in touch with Pope Francis and his representatives and, as has occurred in the past, has kept His Holiness informed about the processes of review of the convictions and the release on imprisoned person, a practice that is common in our judicial system and has characterized the humanitarian record of the Revolution.
