Cuba and Kenya tighten relations

Havana, April 26, 2016.Cuba and Kenya expressed today the willingness of tightening their relations in the context of the official visit to this country by Kenyan Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Amina Mohamed.

To Cuba, the relations with Africa and Kenya are a priority, said Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, after welcoming his Kenyan peer at the Foreign Ministry headquarters.

President Kenyatta pays tribute to former President of Cuba, Fidel Castro

From Star, Nov. 26, 2016. President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday paid tribute to Cuba's former president Fidel Castro, who died late Friday night, by terming him as a legendary freedom fighter, leader and patriot.

In a statement to news rooms, Uhuru said Castro's love for the people of Cuba was selfless and unshakable. He also pointed out the late Cuban leader's devotion to the idea of freedom and sovereignty of all peoples and all nations which spoke through his actions and solidarity.

Kenya to tap into Cuba’s best healthcare model.

This was discussed in Nairobi on Wednesday when the outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Kenya, Raul Rodriguez Ramos visited President Uhuru Kenyatta to bid farewell.

“Cuba has one of the best health models in the world. I believe there is a lot we can share on health,” President Kenyatta said while looking forward to a broader relationship in agriculture, education, tourism and sports.
