Solidarity friends of Cuba in South Africa express their support to the island

Pretoria, October 29, 2024 - The international community will soon vote, for the 33rd time, on the Cuban resolution calling for an end to the blockade and all the unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than 60 years. Every year, this vote is held at the United Nations General Assembly, which has shown, continuously, that Cuba is not alone.

South African Communist Party in solidarity with the Cuban people

Cuba Outreach at the University of Pretoria

Pretoria, October 23, 2024 - The Diplomatic Attaché for Press and Cultural Affairs at the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Lauren Luis Acosta, delivered a lecture about Cuba at the University of Pretoria. The lecture was organized by the Department of Spanish at the University of Pretoria to promote elements characteristic of Cuban culture and identity.

Tribute to Cuban culture in South Africa

Pretoria, October 20, 2024 - The Cuban Embassy in South Africa celebrated National Culture Day this Friday with a special quiz on Cuban idiosyncrasy, customs and art, with the participation of the diplomatic mission's staff, employees working in the country and Cuban residents. The competition covered the fields of literature, painting, cinema and music, in a perfect combination of the best exponents of our national culture. 

Cuba and South Africa engage in strengthening academic exchanges

Johannesburg, October 16, 2024 - The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of the Witwatersrand, Professor Mucha Musemwa, held a fruitful meeting with officials Bryan Betancourt Brito and Lauren Luis Acosta from the Cuban Embassy in South Africa. They discussed in detail the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the academic field and the great potential for exchanges in this area.
