Tribute to Cuban culture in South Africa

Pretoria, October 20, 2024 - The Cuban Embassy in South Africa celebrated National Culture Day this Friday with a special quiz on Cuban idiosyncrasy, customs and art, with the participation of the diplomatic mission's staff, employees working in the country and Cuban residents. The competition covered the fields of literature, painting, cinema and music, in a perfect combination of the best exponents of our national culture. 

Cuba and South Africa engage in strengthening academic exchanges

Johannesburg, October 16, 2024 - The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of the Witwatersrand, Professor Mucha Musemwa, held a fruitful meeting with officials Bryan Betancourt Brito and Lauren Luis Acosta from the Cuban Embassy in South Africa. They discussed in detail the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the academic field and the great potential for exchanges in this area.

Cuban Ambassador received by DIRCO´s Deputy Minister

Pretoria, October 7, 2024 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of South Africa, Enrique Orta González, was received at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) by Deputy Minister Alvin Botes on the occasion of the Cuban diplomat's departure from the African country. Representatives from the Department's Directorate for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean also attended.

Cuban Ambassador meets with Hope Papo, member of FOCUS Gauteng

Pretoria, 3 October 2024 - The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, held a fraternal meeting with Hope Papo, member of the Friendship Association with Cuba, FOCUS, in the Gauteng Province. During the exchange, they discussed the relations of solidarity between Cuba and South Africa, the need to continue supporting the Palestinian cause and to maintain and strengthen the unity of the peoples of the Global South.
