On the morning of February 25, 2026, a violating speedboat was detected within Cuban territorial waters. The vessel, registered in Florida, United States, with registration number FL7726SH, approached up to 1 nautical mile northeast of the El Pino channel, in Cayo Falcones, Corralillo municipality, Villa Clara province.

Havana, February 21, 2026 — Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, via his account on X, wrote:

Cuba poses no threat whatsoever to any country. Ours is a peace-loving and fraternal foreign policy committed to peace, friendship and cooperation. It respects International Law and the United Nations Charter.

It does not attack, threatens or interferes in the internal affairs of other States

Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee Reiterates Support for Cuba in Zimbabwe

Harare, February 20, 2026 – The Chairman of the Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee and the Zimbabwe-Cuba Friendship Group, Webster Kotiwani Shamu, reiterated today the nation's long-standing position against the blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean island.

In a meeting with Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa, Shamu reaffirmed the rejection of all unilateral coercive measures, such as those also faced by Zimbabwe.

Harare, February 19, 2025 – The Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, reiterated today to the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency Susellys Perez Mesa, the nation's long-standing support for the Caribbean island.

Upon receiving the Head of Mission at ZANU-PF headquarters, Mumbengegwi highlighted the historic bilateral ties and Harare's firm stance against the more than six-decade-long US blockade.
