Cuban Embassy in India pays tribute to José Martí on the occasion of the 172nd anniversary of his birth.

On the occasion of the 172nd anniversary of the birth of José Martí, the first secretary of the Cuban Embassy in India, Maiky Díaz Pérez and the second secretary Malena Rojas Medina, visited the public school “José Martí”, located in New Delhi, India.

Both diplomats discussed with Dharmender Singh, director of the educational institution, about the educational systems, programs and methods of study characteristic of India and Cuba.  

Cuba congratulates India on the occasion of its National Day.

On behalf of the Cuban government and people, the president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations to his Indian counterpart, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu, and to Indian Premier His Excellency Narendra Modi. In both missives, the Cuban leader conveyed his cordial congratulations on the occasion of a new anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of India.

The National Cuba Solidarity Committee in India reiterates its unwavering support to the Cuban people.

The National Committee of Solidarity with Cuba and the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) strongly condemned the recent decision of the new US government administration to reincorporate our country in the spurious list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

In their statement, they also called on all their members to organize solidarity mobilizations with Cuba on January 28th, on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of our National Hero José Martí.

In the spirit of the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025, the Cuban Government releases persons who are serving prison sentences.

As part of the close and fluid relations with the Vatican, the Government of Cuba has remained in touch with Pope Francis and his representatives and, as has occurred in the past, has kept His Holiness informed about the processes of review of the convictions and the release on imprisoned person, a practice that is common in our judicial system and has characterized the humanitarian record of the Revolution.

The United States takes steps in the right direction, but the blockade remains in force.

On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;

2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and
