Calcutta reaffirms solidarity with Cuba.

The Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas, visited the city of Calcutta, capital of the state of West Bengal, during which the feeling of friendship and solidarity of the Indian people with our country and the memory of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the heroic Guerrilla, Ernesto Che Guevara, who visited this city in 1973 and 1959 respectively, was made clear.

Trade relations between Cuba and the Indian state of West Bengal are strengthened.

Several actions were developed this weekend in Calcutta, capital of the Indian state of West Bengal, to promote Cuba's commercial and economic ties with this region. Under the initiative of the Indian Economic and Trade Organization (IETO), an India/Cuba business conference was held, which was attended by a large number of businessmen and had as a key moment the announcement of the appointment of Naresh Juneja as IETO commissioner for business with Cuba in Calcutta.

Health officials from Cuba and India hold a meeting.

The Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, held a meeting with his Indian counterpart Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, in the framework of the 75th Assembly of the World Health Organization held in Geneva.

During the meeting, the health ministers discussed issues related to technological development and the production of medicines and evaluated bilateral cooperation in different areas of the sector.

 

Cuban Ambassador visits the Indian National Ayurveda Center.

The Cuban Ambassador, Alejandro Simancas Marin, visited the Indian National Institute of Ayurveda where he was received by its Director General, Tanuja Nesari, with whom he exchanged on joint cooperation actions to support the development of natural medicine in Cuba and the strengthening of the Center of Ayurveda Medicine in Havana. They also highlighted the different options for the training of Cuban specialists in this traditional medicine practice.
