Demonstration of Solidarity with Cuba in the Philippines and Tribute to Martí

Manila, May 19, 2026. Friends of the Cuban people in the Philippines paid tribute to José Martí and laid a floral offering at the park where his statue stands, on the 131st anniversary of his death in combat.

The poem they recited in Spanish was beautiful, evoking that they too cultivate a white rose for a true friend.

Statement of support for Cuba from the Socialist Party of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, May 5, 2026. The Socialist Party of Malaysia (SPM) issued a statement strongly condemning the latest coercive measures and military threats against the Cuban people imposed by the U.S. government.

The statement also reads:

"The United States, with its imperialist ideology, has repeatedly proven to be the greatest threat to world peace and justice…

Solidarity with Cuba in Malaysia during they celebration of 1MayDay

Kuala Lumpur, May 1, 2026. Progressive organizations in Malaysia celebrated the International Day of Workers with a march through the capital's central streets, in support of the international call against the war and in defense of workers' rights.

Friends of solidarity with Cuba also marched with the Cuban flag and signs and ribbons demanding: "Hands off Cuba!" "Peace for Cuba!" "End the US blockade against Cuba!" "Let Cuba live!" and chanted in Bahasa and Spanish for the Cuban people: "The people united will never be defeated!"

Malaysian socialists raised their voices in solidarity with Cuba.

On March 3, members of the Socialist Party of Malaysia held a public anti-imperialist protest in Kuala Lumpur's central KLCC Park, behind the Petronas Towers.

The demonstration, using megaphones, condemned the hegemonic policies and aggressions of imperialism, including the tightening of US sanctions against Cuba, which aim to paralyze the island's economy and suffocate the Cuban people.

The protesters carried signs supporting Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and Palestine. They condemned the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and demanded their release.

Solidarity with Cuba from the Asia-Pacific Region

Kuala Lumpur, March 2, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia expressed her gratitude for the participation in the online seminar “Unilateral Sanctions as an Instrument of War,” which brought together progressive activists from the Asia-Pacific region and became a Solidarity event with Cuba.

The representative of the Caribbean island delivered a presentation on Cuba’s 67-year experience of resistance under imperialist aggression and the most comprehensive and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions ever applied against an entire nation.
