Information Note from the Embassy of Cuba to Canada

The Embassy of Cuba to Canada regrets the unfortunate incident involving the transfer of the human remains of a Canadian citizen who recently passed away in our country.

The relevant authorities are conducting an investigation in order to establish the facts as soon as possible. 

The Cuban Embassy in Ottawa, which is in close contact with the Canadian authorities on this matter, wishes to convey its heartfelt condolences to the family and close relatives of the deceased.

Support for the just cause of the Palestinian people from Toronto.

The Chair of African and Caribbean Studies at the University of Toronto, organized a discussion at its headquarters to support the Palestinian cause. Special guests included Rieaz Shik, High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, Mona Abuamara, Ambassador and Head of the Palestinian General Delegation to Canada, Robert Massoud of the Arab Federation of Canada and Dr. Melissa Levin of the Jewish Faculty Network.

Commemoration of the Bay of Pigs in Toronto.

Organized by the solidarity group "Toronto Forum On Cuba" friends of Cuba, intellectuals and members of the consulate, commemorated the 63rd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory.

The central words were given by Ghassan Abulawi, member of the leadership of the Palestinian youth movement and on behalf of the mission, the Cuban consul Sabdiel Lafargue, highlighted the significance of the date for the Cuban people and the importance of this activity in the preservation of historical memory.

Cuba present at the exchange of the Protocol Directorate of the Province of Ontario with the accredited consular corps

At the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, a meeting was held between the Ontario Provincial Protocol Directorate and the accredited consular corps, which groups more than 100 representations.

During the event, presentations were made by the chiefs of protocol of the Canadian Foreign Ministry, the province and the city of Toronto, on the priorities, work systems and interrelation of each of these instances with the consular representations.
