First of all I would like to welcome the initiative of the Government of Barbados, in its condition as Chair of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States, of convening this virtual meeting.   

Cuban President participates in conference convened by ALBA-TCP

Havana, Jun 10, 2020.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said this Wednesday he will discuss a common anti-Covid-19 strategy with his counterparts in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

We will participate this Wednesday in the ALBA-TCP Virtual Summit to address a common strategy against Covid-19, Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter, which he accompanied with the tag #CubaSalvaVidas.

Cuban medical brigade that saved lives in Italy arrives home!

Havana, June 8 - The first Cuban medical brigade of the Henry Reeve Contingent which served for two months in northern Italy has returned victorious to Havana.  They arrived Monday evening at 6:50 p.m. at the Jose Marti International Airport after a nearly 10-hour flight from Milan-Rome.

US sanctions are criminal and shameful, Cuban FM says

Havana, Jun 4.- Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described the tightening of the US blockade, with the imposition of new sanctions against Cuban entities, as shameful and criminal.

Tightening the blockade during the coronavirus pandemic is shameful and criminal, Rodriguez posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday, and expressed Cuba's energetic rejection to the measures announced by that northern country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states its strong rejection of the slanderous inclusion of Cuba in a US State Department list of countries which are allegedly not cooperating fully with US efforts against terrorism that was made public on May 13, 2020 and that was strongly rejected by President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
