Dili, January 8, 2024. The Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Nélyo Isaac Sarmento, together with his Secretary of State, Jorge Soares, received at the Ministry's headquarters the Cuban Ambassador, Alina Aldam, accompanied by the staff of the Sports Brigade, to clarify the cooperation.

During this meeting, an invitation to participate in the May Day celebrations in Havana was issued. The draft Agreement for Cooperation in the field of Sports and the Agreement on Arts and Culture were also reviewed.

The Chancellor of Timor-Leste, Bendito dos Santos, received the Cuban Ambassador, Alina Aldama.

Dili, November 9, 2023. The UN General Assembly for the 30th time called on the United States to end the blockade of Cuba.

Results of voting:

In favor: 187 countries

Against: 2 countries - USA, Israel

Abstain: 1 country - Ukraine

Even Ukraine didn't feel it would be right to support US total embargo of Cuba. Only Israel consistently votes with the US.
