Online consular counseling session for Cubans residing in Australia takes place

Canberra, 26 January 2024. On 26 January 2024, an online consular counseling session was held for Cuban residents in Australia. It was coordinated by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Cuba based in Canberra.

Cuban residents had the opportunity to update on topics of interest on consular matters and clarify doubts concerning formalities and procedures through WhatsApp groups created for this purpose.

Beloved friend of Cuba passes away in Australia

Canberra, 17 January 2024. Today, we learned of the death of Joan Coxsedge, dear friend of Cuba and member of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society-Melbourne Branch, which was under her presidency for many years.

Joan Coxsedge was an Australian artist and writer with an extensive career in the defence of human rights and peace.

Cuban Ambassador meets with officials in the Australian Parliament to promote triangular cooperation with Pacific Islands

Canberra, 17 January, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez La O, met with Australian officials at the Parliament to promote the implementation of triangular cooperation projects with the Pacific Islands.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity to present three projects linked to the field of health and one related to the environment, through which Cuba and Australia could help the Pacific Islands. Cooperation in education and sports sectors was also discussed.

Cuban ambassador receives new ambassador of El Salvador

Canberra, 16 January 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez, received Ernesto Dueñas, the new ambassador of El Salvador to Australia, at the Cuban embassy.

The meeting allowed both officials to exchange on issues of common interest and address issues related to the work of GRULAC in Australia.

Ambassador Dueñas also expressed his rejection of the unfair and discriminatory application of the U.S. blockade against the people of Cuba.

Cuban ambassador meets with the new director of Latin America of the Australian Foreign Ministry

Canberra, 15 January 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez, met with Mrs.Diana Nelson, the new director of Latin America of the Australian Foreign Ministry at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in this capital.

During the meeting, both officials were able to exchange views on the state of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially as this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of these relations.
