28th May, Canberra- On Saturday 26th May, the Consular section of Cuba in Canberra moved to the city of Melbourne, the second most important in Australia, for bringing consular services to the Cuban community, as well as to provide updated information on the most recent changes adopted by Cuba in migration matters.
Sydney, 29th April- More than twenty Cuban citizens attended this Sunday a fundraising event organized at the Uruguayan Club headquarters by solidarity organizations with Cuba in Sydney.
The activity, carried out with the support of the Embassy of Cuba, consisted of a "Cuban Party", in which some passages of the history of Cuba were shown, as well as the most recognized Cuban rhythms, such as rumba and guaguanco, masterfully represented by the Cuban resident "El Moro", who has been exercising as a dancer and dancing teacher in this great city for years.
Each year, the different regional branchs of the Australia Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) get together to hold an annual balance meeting known as "the National Consultation". In this meeting, which has been developing for more than 30 years, the friends of Cuba review their work as well as the internal functioning of the organization.
We are observing with concern the expulsions of a large number of Russian diplomats by the United States and NATO member countries. These actions have been taken without considering the results of impartial investigations of the facts, disregarding the dialogue, understanding and cooperation that should be paramount in international relations as a route towards the solution of disagreements, according to the spirit of the norms of international law and the United Nations charter.
