Cuban ambassador attends Multifest 2023.

Lower Hutt, September 23. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended Multifest 2023, a festival celebrating the diversity of our communities and cultures in New Zealand.

On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, the ambassador thanked the Hutt Multicultural Council for organizing this event, which contributes to preserving traditions and promotes solidarity and respect for diversity.

Attendees enjoyed a varied cultural show, which clearly reflects that, despite the distance, our nationals do not forget their roots.

 

Cuban film opens LASFF in Palmerston North.

Palmerston North, September 7. After the successful opening of the Latin America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF) in Wellington on September 1 and the presentation of the Cuban film “Cuentos de Un Día Más” (Tales of One More Day) on the 4th in that city, on Thursday the 7th we inaugurated the festival in Palmerston North, where Cuba is in charge of coordination.

Wellington, September 1. With the presence of the mayor of Wellington, H.W Tory Whanau, the 21st edition of the Latin American and Spanish Film Festival was inaugurated tonight.

8 films from our countries will be presented in various cities in New Zealand between September and November, in a free event organized by the embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Spain, with the support of several sponsors.

Cuba will present the film "Tales of One More Day", which tells various stories about love in times of pandemic.

Round table on Cuban foreign policy at the Center for Strategic Studies.

Wellington, August 24. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés presented today the topic "Cuba's Foreign Policy in a Challenging Global Environment" at a round table at the Center for Strategic Studies of the University of Victoria, one of New Zealand's leading foreign policy and security think tanks.
