Cuba counters human trafficking operations aimed for military recruitment purposes.

The Ministry of the Interior has detected and it is working to neutralize and dismantle a human trafficking network that operates from Russia in order to incorporate Cuban citizens living there and even some living in Cuba, into the military forces that participate in military operations in Ukraine. Attempts of this nature have been neutralized and criminal proceedings have been initiated against those involved in these activities.

Cuban President in South Africa for BRICS Summit

Havana, August 22, 2023.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived Tuesday in South Africa to participate at the BRICS Summit as representative of the Group of 77 plus China, of which Cuba is pro-tempore chair.

During the meeting, Cuba will call for an effective coordination between BRICS and the G-77 plus China in order to back the interests of South nations.

Among the 700 graduates in medical sciences, 2 Liberians receive their degree in Cuba.

Havana, August 21, 2023 - In the context of the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks, new health professionals from the Island and sister nations, graduates from different faculties of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana attended their graduation ceremony held at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.

Cuban Head of Mission meets with the Chief of Protocol of the Liberian Foreign Ministry.

Monrovia, Wednesday, August 16, 2023 - In the morning hours, the Chief of Protocol Antoinette Wolo received the Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera in her office at the Liberian Foreign Ministry.

Both diplomats held a fraternal meeting where they discussed issues of interest to both countries.

It was a profitable exchange of experiences, where they also exchanged on the next Summit of the Group 77 plus China, to be held in Havana next September.
