Cuban Ambassador meets with Assistant Foreign Minister Tim Yeend
Canberra, 4 December 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba met today with Assistant Foreign Minister Tim Yeend. During the meeting, the diplomat expressed her appreciation for Australia's position on the resolution against the blockade, as well as exchanged on issues of mutual interest for the development of bilateral relations.
Cuban Ambassador meets with her counterparts from small Pacific island states
Canberra. December 1st, 2023. At the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy, a meeting was held with the diplomatic representatives of the small island states of the Pacific. The representatives were received by the Cuban Ambassador in the southern country, who conveyed greetings on behalf of the Cuban authorities and thanked the position of the islands against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The film Lucia is presented in the city of Sydney
Sydney, 30 November, 2023. The iconic Cuban film, Lucía, by Humberto Solas, will be screened this Friday, 1st December, as part of the 18th Latin American Film Festival program.
The film, from 1968, narrates three moments in Cuban history presented by three women, all of them named Lucía. It is the time of the country's war of independence, the 1930s, during the regime of Gerardo Machado, and the 1960s.
Third Secretary participates in Thailand National Day Reception
Canberra, 29 November, 2023. The Third Secretary of the Embassy, Ivianes Gonzalez, participated in the reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The official conveyed congratulations to the Thai ambassador and ratified the willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations between both countries and Missions.
Cuban Ambassador participates in ALABC event at the Australian Parliament.
Canberra, 29 November 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba participated in ALABAC's Networking 2023 Canberra Day event at the Australian Parliament. The event was also attended by members of the Council on Australia-Latin America Relations (COALAR) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and various members of the Latin American diplomatic corps accredited in Canberra.
The event featured a constructive day of discussion on the issues currently on the agenda for developing ties in the region.
