Cuban Ambassador meets with members of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia
Canberra, 25 July, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba held a meeting with members of the Academy of Social Sciences of Australia. Chris Hatherly, Head of the Executive Office and Michelle Bruce, in charge of scholarship programs and international awards, participated on the Australian side. During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and the Australian institution were exchanged.
The Central Committee of the Australian Communist Party congratulates the people of Cuba on the 70th Anniversary of the Moncada Assault
Canberra, 24 July, 2023. The Central Committee of the Australian Communist Party issued a message of congratulations to the people of Cuba on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada Barracks.
In the message the Australian Communists demanded the end of the US blockade of Cuba and the removal of Cuba from the US unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism as well as an end to its subversive actions against the Cuban people.
July 26th 70th Anniversary Celebrations begin in Australia
Canberra, 23 July, 2023. Members of the Cuba Solidarity Association (Canberra Branch), commemorated, in the Australian capital, the 70th Anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada Barracks.
During the emotional meeting, they exchanged on the importance of these events in the history of Cuba, as well as on the transcendence of the statement of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, after the events of the Moncada, known as "History will absolve me".
The Cuban Ambassador to Australia meets with H.E. Ms. Rachel Moseley, Ambassador-designate to Cuba
Canberra, 21 July, 2023. H.E. Ms. Rachel Moseley was received by the Cuban Ambassador to Australia at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Canberra. Ms Moseley, an experienced diplomat has been appointed as concurrent Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to the Republic of Cuba.
During the exchange, topics of common interest for the development of bilateral relations were discussed, mainly cooperation in areas such as health and education. Both diplomats agreed on the good state of bilateral relations.
Chargé d'Affaires a.i. participates in the Flag Raising Ceremony for the National Day of Colombia
Canberra, 20 July, 2023. The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy to the Commonwealth of Australia, Ivianes Gonzalez, participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day of the Republic of Colombia.
The ceremony took place at the Latin American Plaza and was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Canberra.
