Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) promotes campaign against the blockade

Vienna, August 4, 2020. The branches of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) in the cities of Linz and St. Pölten carried out various activities during the last week to promote the campaigns #UNBLOCKCUBA and “Cuba help us! we help Cuba! - For the end of the blockade!”.

The #UNBLOCKCUBA campaign is part of the actions of the European friendship associations with Cuba against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

Cuba ratifies its commitment to the Mandela Rules for the treatment of prisoners

Vienna, July 20, 2020. The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the Office of the United Nations and International Organizations based in Vienna, Ambassador Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo, participated in a virtual meeting of the Group of Friends of the Rules of Mandela, organized by in conjunction with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, in commemoration of Nelson Mandela International Day.

Friends of Austria contribute to the rehabilitation of Water Supply Systems in Santiago de Cuba province

Vienna, 18 June 2020.  Twelve communities in the city of Santiago de Cuba province have been benefited by the cooperation project "Rehabilitation of Water Supply Systems in Santiago de Cuba province", coordinated with the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources and promoted by the branch of ÖKG, the Austrian-Cuban Friendship Association in Carinthia region, with the support of the Government of that city.

Ambassador Loipa Sánchez highlighted the achievements of Cuban women at the United Nations in Vienna

Ambassador Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo highlighted the achievements of Cuban women in an event organized by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the Commission for the Prevention of Crime and Criminal Justice of the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime, in commemoration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the celebration of the IV World Conference on Women and the approval of the Beijing Declaration and Plan of Action.

Cuba ratifies its will to boost and expand collaboration in ALBA-TCP

Havana, Jun 11, 2020.- Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel reiterated on Wednesday the will of his government to boost collaboration with the members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

During a virtual meeting with representatives of the member countries, the head of State called for exchanging experiences within the entity to face the aftermaths of Covid-19 crisis in the region.
