The Cuban Ambassador visits the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment of Barbados

Barbados will strengthen its relations with Cuba, according to reports by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation quoting the Barbados Govenment Information Service. Since 1972, Barbados has had an exceptional relationship with Cuba, and Government is seeking to strengthen this relationship in the area of sports.

The ‘pushing of new frontiers’ in sports was one of the main areas discussed during a courtesy call today between Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Dwight Sutherland, and Cuban Ambassador to Barbados, Sergio Jorge Pastrana.

Last Sunday at the Israel Lovell Foundation in Barbados, said institution, in coordination with the Coalition of Pan-Africanist Organizations and the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration, held an act of tribute to the 133rd anniversary of the birth of the Most Honorable Marcus Garvey, National Hero of Jamaica and founder of the Pan-Africanist movements in the Caribbean.
