Almost unanimous support for the Cuban Resolution against the US blockade.

New York, June 23. The General Assembly of the United Nations approved with the favorable vote of 184 countries the Cuban Resolution entitled "The necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."
Only the United States and Israel voted against, being isolated, as in the 28 previous occasions in which the resolution was approved.

Solidarity with Cuba continues in New Zealand.

Auckland. 19th of June. With the presence of the Cuban Ambassador, the friendship groups with Cuba held a public act and fundraising dinner as part of the international campaign against the blockade and in support of the purchase of syringes to combat COVID 19 on the island.

Organized by the Auckland Cuba Friendship Society, the event took place at the Auckland Trades Hall, with the presence of more than 30 national activists and

union leaders.

“Bridges of Love” in New Zealand.

Wellington, May 30. Members of the solidarity groups with Cuba joined this Saturday and Sunday to the world day against the blockade in the cities of Auckland and Wellington, with a caravan of cars and other protest actions against the hostile policy of the United States against the Cuban people.

Thousands of kilometers from the island, the “Bridges of Love” are strengthened. Thanks to everyone who supports our cause.

Liberia actively rejects the US blockade against Cuba.

Monrovia, May 29, 2021 - Members of the Liberia-Cuba solidarity group were protagonists, this morning, of a caravan for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial sanctions and other restrictions that affect Cuban families inside and outside the island.

As part of the Unblock Cuba campaign, the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association organized a small caravan that started at 10:00 local time and traveled from VOA Community, RIA Highway, Paynesville to Congotown.

Cuban Ambassador participates in commemoration of May 1st.

Blackball, May 1. The Cuban Ambassador attended the commemoration of International Labor Day in Blackball, along with the Member of Parliament for the Labor Party Angela Roberts, Union leaders and members of solidarity groups with Cuba.

It was an opportunity to share our experience and appreciate the work of the community in solving their problems.

We received numerous displays of solidarity and respect for the Cuban Revolution.

Solidarity at sea.

Wellington, April 30. On the occasion of a trip to the South Island to attend the commemoration of International Labor Day in Blackball, Ambassador Edgardo Valdés was invited to participate in an act of support for Cuba and rejection of the US blockade, on the deck of the ferry, organized by the Maritime Union of New Zealand.

This union approved a motion to support Cuba in its last National Assembly and has a long tradition of solidarity with the island.

 

Meeting with friends of Cuba in Auckland.

Auckland, April 8. The Cuban Ambassador attended a meeting with 20 leaders of the First Union, other Unions, and members of the board of solidarity groups with Cuba.

At the meeting, a recorded message of thanks was transmitted from Leima Martínez, Director of Asia / Pacific of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and the Ambassador made a presentation on the situation in Cuba, the perspectives of relations with the United States, the good state of ties with New Zealand and the upcoming debate on the blockade in the United Nations General Assembly.
