The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, visited the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, an institution of excellence in charge of intensive research and development based on biotechnology on the biological resources of this Malaysian state located on the island of Borneo.
The visit included tours of the different facilities and laboratories, meetings with the institution's specialists and a courtesy visit to YBhg Dato Dr Yeo Tiong Chia, Executive Director of the centre and Secretary of the Sarawak Biodiversity Council.

The inauguration of the first edition of the Latin American Film Festival in Kuching, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Sarawak, took place this weekend.
The opening remarks of the event were made by the Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, who expressed the satisfaction of the members of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Embassies in Malaysia (GRULAC) for this milestone.

The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Florentino Batista González, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Premier of the state of Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat presented to Dr. Sim Kui Hian the portfolio of biopharmaceutical products produced by the Cuban business group BioCubaFarma and outlined the possibilities of future collaborations that will help the mutual benefit of research between both countries.
