A new shipment of love and solidarity from Canada

A new shipment of 186kg of medical supplies was delivered in the city of Montreal, destined to Medicuba, for the people who were injured during the fire at the supertanker base in Matanzas. This new shipment was made possible thanks to the continued support of friends in solidarity including: the Cuban Community in Canada (CCC), Table de Concertation de Solidarité Québec-Cuba, Ottawa Cuba Connections, Canada Cuba Care Connection - 4C and Not just tourists Ottawa.

 

Tribute to the Cuban Five Heroes in Toronto

The General Consulate of Cuba in Toronto participated in a virtual meeting organized by the Canadian Network on Cuba to pay tribute to the Cuban Five Heroes: Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González.

 

Among the main speakers at the event were Issac Saney, Bill Ryan and Cuban Consul Sabdiel Lafargue, who focused his speech on the impact of the blockade as a form of terrorism against Cuba. In addition, representatives from different groups of solidarity with our nation also participated.

 

Cuban delegation participates in intense COP15 negotiations

As part of the negotiations of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15), being held in the city of Montreal, the Cuban delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of CITMA, Adianez Taboada, actively participated in the High-Level Segment, being her speech the main activity of the day.

On December 16, the third ministerial consultation was held, during which our delegation reiterated its approach on that the goals should be global, based on scientific information, and ambitious but realistic.

Cuba advocates for a healthy and balanced environment at COP15

Today, the Deputy Minister of CITMA, Adianez Taboada, reaffirmed Cuba's support for a strategic framework that reflects the objectives of the Convention in a balanced way, whose goals be global, bearer of concrete commitments and of the right the country has enshrined in its Constitution for the enjoyment of a healthy and balanced environment.

 

Cuba attends COP15 meeting in Canada

Adianez Taboada, Cuba's deputy minister of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA), will join the high-level segment of the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), to be held between December 15 and 17 in Montreal, Canada.

 

The two-week summit, which has been underway since December 7, is expected to be the largest biodiversity conference in a decade, with countries hoping to reach an agreement on the protection and restoration of nature.
