Cuban Ambassador to Canada participates in the symposium "The Cuban Revolution in its 60th Anniversary".
Halifax, November 2, 2019. - The Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Josefina Vidal, attended the conference "The Cuban Revolution in its 60 Years," which took place at Dalhousie University between October 31 and November 2, 2019.
This symposium included the participation of more than forty internationally renowned academics and political analysts.
Celebrate in Ottawa Cuban National Culture Day.
Ottawa, October 30, 2019 - On Wednesday afternoon, the Cuban Embassy in Canada, together with Cuban residents, representatives of the Canadian government, members of the diplomatic corps and solidarity groups, celebrated the Cuban National Culture Day, which this year was dedicated especially to the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Havana.
This evening was propitious to decorate with the Haydée Santamaría Medal awarded by the Councils of State of the Republic of Cuba, to Professor Emeritus of the University of Toronto and outstanding intellectual of our America, Keith Ellis.
The 8th Che Guevara International Conference is held in Vancouver.
Ottawa, October 25, 2019 - The 8th International Che Guevara Conference, organized by Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba and the Canadian Network of Solidarity with Cuba, will take place in Vancouver on October, 26 and 27.
The first of these conferences was held in 2008 and its central theme was "Che Guevara, Thinker and Fighter: Are His Ideas Relevant for the 21st Century? On this occasion it will be on "Socialism yesterday, today and tomorrow: The continuity of the Cuban socialist project" and it will be a propitious moment to reflect on the Cuban Revolution, its validity and the impact it has had in Latin America and the world.
The Quebec-Cuba Solidarity Roundtable sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada requesting support for Cuba's resolution against the blockade.
Ottawa, October 24, 2019.- The Quebec-Cuba Solidarity Roundtable sent a letter to the Canadian Foreign Minister, Chrystia Freeland, requesting that Ottawa maintain its traditional support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade imposed by the United States, which Cuba will present again to the General Assembly of the United Nations, on November 6 and 7 of the current year.
