Cuba in Canada

It is imperative to halt the imperialist military adventure against Venezuela

Statement by the Revolutionary Government

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns the escalation of pressures and actions of the US government in preparation for a military adventure under the guise of a “humanitarian intervention” in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and calls on the international community to mobilize in order to prevent its consummation.

Between February 6 and 10 of 2019, several military transport aircraft have been flying to the Rafael Miranda Airport in Puerto Rico; the San Isidro Air Base in the Dominican Republic and other Caribbean Islands that have a strategic location, most certainly without the knowledge of the governments of those nations.

Statement by the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Josefina Vidal January 30, 2019

Cuba understands the obligations of the government of Canada to protect its diplomatic personnel posted anywhere in the world and to try to find answers to the health symptoms reported in Cuba, however, it considers that Canada´s decision made public today is incomprehensible.

Cutting Canada´s staff at its Embassy in Cuba and adjusting the mission´s programs are actions that do not help find answers to the health symptoms reported by Canadian diplomats, and which will have an impact on the relations.
