Cuba and Canada hold the IV Round of Migratory Talks.

Ottawa, August 29, 2019.- On August 28 and 29, 2019, the IV Round of Talks on Migration between Cuba and Canada was held in Ottawa, chaired by Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, General Director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, and Kathy Thompson, Vice-president of the Canada Border Service Agency.

During the working sessions, the migration flow between Cuba and Canada was assessed and negotiations continued in view of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Migratory matters.

Canadians and Cubans celebrate friendship day Toronto-Cuba

Toronto, August 25, 2019.- Last Saturday, the 24th edition of Toronto-Cuba Friendship Day was held in this city, which was held in the city's Mayor's Office. The celebration was organized by the Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto (CCFA-Toronto), the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gomez" and the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network.

The Cuban Ambassador Josefina Vidal Ferreiro delivered a few words as the main speaker of the event, during which she emphasized the respect and friendship that unite our peoples. She also highlighted the important role played by solidarity organizations with our country during 2019.

Vidal Ferreiro highlighted, among other members the solidarity groups, Elizabeth Hill, president of CCFA-Toronto, for the vital activism in support of the just causes that our country defends.

Commemoration of the 93 anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz

Ottawa, August 13, 2019.- On the afternoon of Tuesday, the collective of the Cuban Embassy in Canada with the friends of the solidarity groups Ottawa-Cuba Connections, ALBA Social Movements Canada - Ottawa Chapter, the Roundtable Consultation of Montreal, Canada - Cuba Friendship Association in Toronto and Cubans residing in Canada, commemorated the 93 Anniversary of the Birthday of the Commander in Chief and historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

Celebration in Toronto the 66 anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks

Toronto,  July 26th, 2019. - On Friday night, July 26, it was celebrated the 66th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes military Headquarters. The celebration was jointly organized by the Cuban-Canadian Friendship Association, the Latin American Solidarity Network (LACSN), the Association of Cuban Residents in Canada, Juan Gualberto Gómez, and the Consulate General of Cuba.

It was highlighted the importance of this action due to the extraordinary significance it had for the Cuban people and for the national liberation movement that lasted until the defeat of tyranny in 1959.

Celebration in Ottawa for the National Rebelliousness Day

Ottawa, July 26, 2019.- In the afternoon of this Friday the Ottawa-Cuba Connections and ALBA Social Movements Canada Ottawa Chapter, solidarity organizations reminisced together with members of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada, the 66 anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

The meeting highlighted the importance of the date, the reasons that led young people, led by Fidel Castro to be the main leaders in this feat and the commitment with Cuba of the members of this solidarity association.

The Chargé d'affaires a.i. Mrs. Cristina Ramos thanked the friendship of the Ottawa-Cuba Connection organization.
