DDG Yang Attends Inauguration of Marine Observatory in Cienfuegos

An observatory for the study of ocean acidification was inaugurated yesterday in Cienfuegos, Cuba, in the presence of Mr Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation.

The observatory, part of the Centre for Environmental Studies of Cienfuegos (CEAC), is located in the Faro Luna Diving Centre in the south central province of the country.

Cuban Institutions and IAEA Review Bilateral Cooperation

Dazhu Yang, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will visit the Agency of Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (AENTA), as part of his official visit to Cuba.
 
Yang will meet with AENTA president, Daniel Lopez, to exchange on the state of technical cooperation. Directors of the National Nuclear Safety Center, as well as from the Ministries of Public Health, Food Industry and Agriculture, will also participate.

Cuba and Vietnam signed health cooperation agreements to strengthen the cooperation in this sector, through which the island will provide professional services to the Indochina nation.

One of the documents was signed by Juana María Larrea, on behalf of Cuban Medic al Services (CSMC) and Vu Thi Thanh Giang, from the International General Hospital Thu Cuc, in the presence of the deputy minister Marcia Cobas, who led the delegation of the Caribbean country.

Cuba and Austria take cooperation between their Ministries of Justice forward

The Federal Minister for Justice of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Wolfgang Brandstetter received the Cuban delegation led by the Deputy-minister for Justice Mr. Francisco Eduardo García Henríquez in the headquarters of the Austrian ministry. It was a fruitful meeting in which both parties ratify their will to take their existing cooperation relation forward through the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the ministers of both countries in December 2015.

Group of Cuban nurses come to Kuwait to start cooperation in this field of health

Kuwait, October 22, 2016. A group of 10 bachelors in nursing arrived to  the capital of Kuwait to begin Cuban cooperation in the area of nursing health sector.

The group was received by Cuban ambassador Andres Gonzalez Garrido at Kuwait International Airport.

Nurses will offer their services in the Dasman Diabetes Institute as a result of an agreement signed between this  institution and  Medical Services Enterprise of Cuba, CSMC.

Jamaica´s PNP expresses solidarity with Cuba after hurricane Matthew

Minister for Local Government expresses appreciation for Cuba´s cooperation in the Pacific region

Wellington, 13 April 2016.-In a meeting held this morning at the Beehive, the Minister for Local Government, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, expressed to the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, his appreciation for Cuba´s cooperation projects with the Pacific Islands. Also in charge of the ministries of the Pacific People and Ethnic Communities, Lotu-Iiga confirmed he was aware of the experience of some Pacific Islands young fellows, who graduated from medical careers in Cuba and the valuable contribution made to raise the standard of health services in their countries.
