Liberia, February 4, 2020 - The informal meeting of the Board of Directors of the Green Climate Fund is taking place in Monrovia, Liberia, from February 4 to 7, to discuss the Fund's draft Strategic Plan for period 2020/2024.  Jorge Ferrer, an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is participating in the meeting as Alternate Member of the Board.

Chargé d'Affaires in Liberia makes working visit to Oniyama Hospital

Monrovia, January 28, 2020 - This morning, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez, made a working visit to Oniyama Hospital in Bushrod Island, where the Cuban doctor on mission in this country is providing medical care.
The visit also included a meeting with a graduate in Cuba who works at the Clinic and a tour of the facilities of the place.
During our stay we were able to appreciate the gratitude of patients and workers for the work done by the Cuban health professional.

Namibia, January 28th, 2020- The 167th Anniversary of the Birth of our Apostle and National Hero, José Martí, was commemorated in Namibia with the presence of the Cuban ambassador, Sidenio Acosta, the Venezuelan ambassador, Omar Barretoran, officials of both diplomatic headquarters, Cuban collaborators and members of the Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association and the “Patria” Association of Cuban Residents.

Nassau, January 27th, 2020. Cuban Ambassador Alejandro García del Toro visited the honorable senator Carl W. Bethel, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. At the meeting they agreed that the proximity and similar geographical characteristics stimulates collaboration on legal matters in a wide variety of sectors.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia announced the decision of the putschist Government to suspend diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba, claming that the Cuban Government has systematically affected bilateral relations and has been hostile towards the Bolivian authorities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba strongly rejects the unfounded allegations of Bolivia’s de facto government.

Exchange in Liberia on the life and work of José Martí

Monrovia, January 25, 2020 - In homage to the 167th anniversary of the birth of our National Hero José Martí, members of the group of Liberian graduated in Cuba and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Mission in Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera had a pleasant exchange on the life and work of the most universal of Cubans.

During the meeting, the validity of Martí's thought was highlighted, because at the turn of more than a century, Martí continues to speak to us in the present.

Vandalism to José Martí's busts condemned in Liberia

Monrovia, January 25, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association condemns the recent vandalism to the busts of the National Hero José Martí by stateless counter-revolutionaries financed by Washington, when all of Cuba was celebrating the 61st anniversary of the triumph of its Revolution.

In their statement, the friends of Cuba expressed their repudiation and indignation at such provocations and declared that José Martí is alive in the hearts of all those who wish for a better world.
