CUBA AND SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINAS RENEW THE BASIS OF THEIR COOPERATION IN THE HEALTH SPHERE

After almost two decades of successful collaboration in the field of health, Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are working on updating the bases of cooperation in this important area, with the spur of recent arrival of a significant number of Cuban health professionals, who will work in the Modern Medical Center (CDI) of Georgetown with their Vincentian colleagues.

A representation of specialists of the National General Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba and the Cuban Environment Agency, successfully completed a work program with the Vincentian authorities in the framework of the "Project to strengthen early warning systems for risk reduction of disasters, through knowledge and the transfer of methodological tools ", sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

AMBASSADOR OF CUBA RECEIVES THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES.

The Cuban Ambassador Vilma Reyes Valdespino received the Vice President of the Parliament of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Senator Carlos James.

Senator James, who is also the assistant to the Secretary General of the ULP, recently led a delegation from his Party to Cuba, on an update visit.

Director of CENESEX meets with Ambassador and officials of the Foreign Ministry during visit to Finland

Helsinki, May 29, 2018. During her visit to Finland, Cuban deputy Mariela Castro Espín held a meeting on May 28 with H.E Mr. Jukka Pietikäinen, Finnish Ambassador to Cuba, resident in Helsinki, who was accompanied by Ms. Anu Korppi, deputy director of the Unit for Latin America and Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreigns Affairs of Finland; Mrs. Janina Hasenson, deputy director of the Unit in charge of the Human Rights Policy and H.E Mrs. Anne Meskanen, Ambassador for Equality Affairs at the Ministry.

Dr. Mariela Castro Espín, deputy and director of the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX) of Cuba, gave a lecture at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Helsinki, attended by the former President of the Republic of Finland, H.E. Mrs. Tarja Halonen, who delivered a closing speech.

Helsinki, May 28, 2018. Former President of Finland, Mrs. Tarja Halonen, held a meeting on Monday, May 28, with Dr. Mariela Castro Espín, director of the National Center for Sexual Education of Cuba (CENESEX), after the conference given by the Cuban parliamentarian at the University of Helsinki.

Finnish University conferred title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Psychology to Dr. Mariela Castro Espín

Helsinki, May 26, 2018. The prestigious Åbo Akademi University, in the city of Turku, Finland, conferred the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Psychology to Dr. Mariela Castro Espín, director of the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX) of Cuba, in a solemn ceremony held on Friday, May 25, in the Concert Hall of the historic city, located in the southwest of the country.
