Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, at the Non-Aligned Ministerial Committee on Palestine. New York, September 26, 2024.

We appreciate the timely convening of this ministerial meeting of our Movement.

We reiterate our unshakable solidarity with the brotherly people of Palestine in their continued struggle to exercise their inalienable rights against the Israeli occupation of their territory and the aggression in Gaza.

Cuban Head of Mission holds exchange with Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund.

Monrovia, September 13, 2024 - During an event sponsored by the United Nations, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a cordial meeting with the Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Dr. Sennen Hounton, who was visiting Liberia.

During the exchange, Mr. Hounton praised Cuba for the role it has played in the training of human resources on the African continent and for the preparation of health professionals in the Greater Antilles.

The Cuban Paralympic delegation arrived in the homeland.

The Cuban delegation that participated in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games arrived today to the homeland and was welcomed at the foot of the stairs of the plane by the President of the Republic Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Led by the triple gold medalist in the summer event, Omara Durand, the group of paratriathletes along with technicians, managers, health professionals and journalists who covered the event, stepped on Cuban soil with the honor of the duty fulfilled by signing in the French capital a memorable performance.

New Assistant Minister of the Liberian Foreign Ministry visits the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.

Monrovia, September 9, 2024 - In the afternoon, the Hon. Christana Wahblo Konneh, Assistant Minister for American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, visited the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.

The Liberian diplomat was received by the Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, with whom she had a productive exchange on issues of interest to both countries.

Academic Ramonet demands Cuba’s exclusion from terrorist list

The Casa de las Americas in Havana supports today voiced support for the open letter French-Spanish writer Ignacio Ramonet addressed to U.S. President Joe Biden, demanding the Cuba be removed from the list of sponsors of terrorism.

The cultural institution has called on other writers, artists, cultural promoters, academics and social activists, non-governmental organizations and anyone sensitive to the daily suffering of the Cuban people, to join ‘this noble initiative with their signatures.
