Philippines and Cuba exchange views on Higher Education

Kuala Lumpur, October 13, 2025. Interesting exchange between the Cuban ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández and the Minister of Higher Education of the Philippines Dr. Shirley Agrupis (Chairperson Philippine Commission on Higher Education) at Rizal Centre in the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur.

Higher education is an area with potential for greater cooperation between Cuba and the Philippines.

Malaysia and Cuba expand academic collaboration

Kuala Lumpur, October 4, 2025. Professor Dr. Roy Anthony Rogers, from the Department of International and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, participated online in the 10th Strategic Studies Conference, organized by the Cuban Center for International Policy Research (CIPI), held from October 1 to 3, 2025, in Havana, Cuba.

Dr. Rogers presented two interesting articles: “Malaysia’s Entry into the BRICS” and “Malaysia as a Third Country in the Current US-China Relations.”

Cuba rejects imposition of Monroe Doctrine at Summit of the Americas

The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, expressed his deep concern and rejection of the decision imposed by the US government on the Dominican Republic to exclude Cuba and other countries from the 10th Summit of the Americas, scheduled for December 4 and 5 in Punta Cana.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry described the measure as a capitulation to unilateral pressure from the U.S. Secretary of State, consolidating a historic regression in the system of hemispheric summits.
