Namibia, January 28th, 2021- On the occasion of the 168th Anniversary of the Birth of José Martí, National Hero of Cuba, the Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, gave Martha Shilyomunhu, Principal of the “Fidel Castro Ruz” Primary School, a reproduction of a portrait of the Apostle, made by the Cuban painter and patriot Armando García Menocal.

The Bahamian expert on Economy Kevin Alcena, a close friend of Cuba in this archipelago, described as absurd the recent designation of our country as a state sponsor of terrorism by Secretary of State Michael Pompeo. In an article published on the social network Medium, the academic stated that "there is no way to substantiate this statement nor is there any justification for it," adding that by making an "exhaustive examination of all the readily available factual information, there is no a legitimate mandate that coincides with this statement against Cuba”.

Despite of the complexities and challenges imposed by Covid19 in our countries: Jade, Giovanni and Dreyson feel that the time has come to face a major challenge; but they are convinced that their effort will be worth it.

Monrovia, January 5, 2020 - This morning, Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera gave an interview to correspondent Joaquin Sendolo of the "Daily Observer", one of the most widely read newspapers in Liberia and with the oldest circulation in the African country.

In it, the Cuban diplomat referred to the Cuba-Liberia scholarship program from which Liberian students have benefited to study medicine in the Greater Antilles.

Addis Ababa, December 30, 2021.  The Deputy Speaker of the Hose of Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Honorable Mrs. Shitahe Minale, became the first parliamentarian of that nation to nominate the Cuban Medical Contingent “Henry Reeve” to the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Deputy Speaker acknowledged the outstanding results of the work of the Cuban medical teams since its inception in 2005, particularly within the African continent in the fight against epidemics like Ebola and Covid-19, as well as by facing natural disasters in different countries.

Monrovia, January 2, 2021.- The Head of Mission of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, held a working meeting with Ambassador Medina A. Wesseh Esq, Secretary General of the regional organization Mano River Union, who visited the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.

During the fruitful meeting, the Cuban diplomat related Cuba's experience in the development of collaboration with African countries in different areas, which has extended to almost all the countries of the continent.

Cuban Head of Mission meets with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia.

Monrovia, December 23, 2020 - Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera held an exchange with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia, Mr. Kingsley Opoku Amaning.

The topic that dominated the exchange between both diplomats was the internal situation of the country after the celebration of the senatorial elections and the national referendum, which constituted an excellent opportunity to learn more about Liberia.
