Secretary General of the regional organization “Mano River Union” meets with the Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia.

Monrovia, January 2, 2021.- The Head of Mission of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, held a working meeting with Ambassador Medina A. Wesseh Esq, Secretary General of the regional organization Mano River Union, who visited the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.

During the fruitful meeting, the Cuban diplomat related Cuba's experience in the development of collaboration with African countries in different areas, which has extended to almost all the countries of the continent.

Cuban Head of Mission meets with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia.

Monrovia, December 23, 2020 - Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera held an exchange with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia, Mr. Kingsley Opoku Amaning.

The topic that dominated the exchange between both diplomats was the internal situation of the country after the celebration of the senatorial elections and the national referendum, which constituted an excellent opportunity to learn more about Liberia.

The “Félix Varela” Educational Brigade with its 53 members does an outstanding job and has earned a reputation among parents, students and managers of the Bahamian education system. Cuban Head of Mission holds exchange with Special Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission in Liberia.

Monrovia, December 21, 2020 - Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera had a valuable exchange with the Special Representative of the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Babatunde Olanrewaju Ajisomo.

During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged on the internal situation of the West African country. It was an excellent opportunity to continue learning about Liberia and Africa.

Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia holds virtual meeting with Liberian Foreign Minister.

Monrovia, December 18, 2020 - This morning, Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera held a virtual meeting with Liberian Foreign Minister Dee Maxwell Kemayah. In said meeting, the most relevant events for Liberia during the current year were highlighted.

This meeting was the last exchange of the year that the Liberian Chancellor will have with the members of the diplomatic corps based in the country.

Namibia, December 16th, 2020 - At the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Namibia, the young Matheus Natangwe Mwelihanyeka signed, in an official ceremony, the documents that endorse the beginning of his studies in Medicine in Cuba, as part of a scholarship granted by the Cuban government. Matheus was selected from a large group of candidates for his excellent academic results.

Monrovia, December 11, 2020 - With the aim of reviewing issues of mutual interest in order to advance effectively in the fulfillment of the same, the Advisor to the Liberian Chancellor for American Affairs, Mr. Maxwell P. Vah, and the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in Liberia, Mercedes Martínez Herrera, held a working meeting at the headquarters of the Chancellery of this West African country.

Cuba and CARICOM ratify willingness to strengthen relations

Havana, December 9, 2020.-  Solidarity and collaboration are the most precious weapons of the exchange between Cuba and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), President Miguel Díaz-Canel said Tuesday during the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government.

We have concluded a fruitful exchange on the development of our nations and the progress of the relations between the member states of the CARICOM-Cuba mechanism", the President pointed out at the closing of the meeting, held virtually.
