Namibia, May 22nd, 2020- A few days before the celebration of Africa Day, on May 25th, the governments of Namibia and Cuba signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the area of health. The Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, signed the agreement on behalf of the head of the Island's Ministry of Public Health, José Ángel Portal. Meanwhile, on the Namibian side did it, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Mr. Kalumbi Shangula.
Namibia, May 21st, 2020- The newly appointed Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Hon. Jenelly Matundu, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta. Both diplomats agreed on the excellent condition of the bilateral relations, which they classified as historical and brotherhood.
Monrovia, May 19, 2020 - 125 years after the fall in combat, facing the sun, of the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, which took place in the fields of Dos Ríos, on May 19, 1895, the Cuban Embassy in Liberia joins the homage of all the Cuban people to his memory and example.
That day, Maximo Gomez wrote in his campaign diary: "We are already missing the best of our comrades and the soul we can say of the uprising".
Monrovia, May 17, 2020 - Within the activities carried out by the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Liberia, in the framework of the "¨Africa Day" journey, we opened the section "Get to know Liberia". Through this section we intend to make available to everyone information about this country in West Africa, unknown to many people. Monrovia, May 16, 2020 - The Libera-Cuba Friendship Organization condemns the inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries that do not collaborate against terrorism.
At the same time, they denounce once again the terrorist act committed last April 30th against the Cuban Embassy in Washington DC. They point out that the United States remains silent and that terrorist acts cannot go unpunished.
Monrovia, May 15, 2020 - The President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sent a message of condolence to the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah, on the occasion of the human losses caused by the landslide in a region of the West African country.
The message from the Cuban President to his Liberian counterpart extends condolences also to the families of the victims.
Namibia, May 15th, 2020- The Cuban ambassador to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, participated in a television and radio panel on International Solidarity to confront the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting was broadcasted live on the national television and radio station Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). Mr. Zhang Yiming and Mr. William M. P. Whitehead, ambassadors of China and South Africa to Namibia respectively, also participated with the Cuban representative.
