Cuba reiterates to Estonia its willingness to promote bilateral dialogue and thanks its support against the blockade

During a virtual meeting with Her Excellency Ms. Karmen Claus, Director of Transatlantic Affairs at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Beatriz Parra González shared updated information on Cuba, primarily on the impact of the US blockade, while expressing her gratitude for supporting the resolution calling for an end to this unjust policy. The Caribbean representative also referred to the recent campaigns against Cuban international medical collaboration, as demonstrated by the Secretary of State during his recent trips to the Caribbean, aimed at ending bilateral agreements with more than three decades of excellent results. The Director appreciated the update and thanked the Cuban diplomat for the excellent collaboration established during her accreditation in Tallinn, during which she actively contributed to the dialogue between Cuba and Estonia.

During this exchange, the Cuban diplomat reiterated the message of greeting to Estonia on its national day sent by President Miguel Díaz-Canel and took the moment to express her gratitude for Estonia's support for Cuba in the resolution against the US blockade. Cuban Ambassador also shared her gratitude to Estonia, its government and Foreign Ministry for the collaboration established during her time in Helsinki, which will conclude next April.

The Republic of Estonia celebrates the 107th Anniversary of its Independence this February 24 and to this end it has prepared an extensive program of activities, among which the traditional military parade and the raising of the flag at Pompea Castle stand out.

Ambassador Receives President of Estonia-Cuba Friendship Association

During the meeting, both parts discussed issues of the historical relations of the Association with the Greater Antilles, which dates back three decades. The Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, was received this Thursday at the Estonian Chamber of Commerce, by Merit Fimberg-Espuch, General Director of Projects. During the exchange, both authorities shared topics of interest for Cuba and Estonia. The Cuban diplomat referred to the new business opportunities that are opening up in the island for the foreign investment and referred to some of the products of the Cuban market with global recognition.
