The Vice-President of the Republic and President of the Organization for Environmental Protection, Dr. Masume Ebtekar, chaired the official ceremony of planting the amity tree in the surrounding area of the emblematic Milad Tower, to contribute to preserve the Tehran’s environment.
The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Persian nation and Cuba was represented by Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, who was accompanied by the Counselor in charge of Consular Affairs, Rebeca Fernandez Nuñez.
The Cuban Embassy in Tehran did not want to miss an important event such as the International Women's Day, which is celebrated in many parts of the world, and met to pay homage to all the women who work in the Mission.
In his speech for the occasion, Ambassador Vladimir González Quesada stressed that it has already become a tradition to meet every March 8th to congratulate and charm the Cuban women who share in the work and daily life with the rest of the collective’s members.
After successfully completing the First Conference of Cooperation of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Ileana Núñez Mordoche, and the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Dr June Soomer, held a joint press conference at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, venue of the event.

Dr. Fitt explained to the Ambassador the wide profile of studies of the prestigious institution, which is part of the university system of the city of Oxford.
UNITED KINGDOM, 8 March 2017.- Invited by the Oxford Brookes University Documentary Club, the Ambassador Teresita Vicente Sotolongo attended the presentation of the documentary Unfinished Spaces on the history of foundation and creation of the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA, by its Spanish initials), the University of Arts of Cuba, an idea of Fidel Castro in the first years after the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, that changed the concept and the way of teaching arts in Cuba and had an impact beyond its frontiers.

This week, Cuba will become, once again, the capital of the Caribbean, serving as venue to different regional meetings aiming to dialogue about key issues for our region like tourism, commerce, transportation, the environment and climate change.
Havana, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The meetings of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which will be held soon in this capital, will allow tightening relations and boost cooperation among the regional countries.
According to Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra, these meetings will be spaces to analyze the opportunities for collaboration, foster competitiveness among the economies of the member countries of those blocs and discuss the common challenges to consolidate shared development.
