African Continental Virtual Meeting in Solidarity with Cuba be held next Thursday, October 7th


The VII African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will gather friendly voices of the Caribbean nation and in rejection to the hostile policy of the United States.

The event, organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), has among its objectives to strengthen ties between the African continent and our country.

It will pay tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara, internationalist symbols in the struggles for the independence of the peoples of  the African continent.

Liberian friends ratify solidarity with Cuba.

Monrovia, October 4, 2021 - Members of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association ratified the continuation of their actions, during a meeting at the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia with the Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.

The friends considered Cuba as a source of inspiration for its example of firmness, and ratified the commitment to maintain their support in the complex current situation of the Island, which is facing the pandemic, resisting the blockade and developing the anti-imperialist struggle.

Head of Mission holds exchange with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Americas of the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Monrovia, September 21, 2021 - The Cuban Head of Mission in the Republic of Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera received at the headquarters of our diplomatic mission in Monrovia, the Minister for American Affairs of the Liberian Foreign Ministry Honorable Maxwell P. Vah.

They had a timely and friendly exchange in which prevailed the interest of both parties in the periodic follow-up to multilateral and bilateral issues.

Cuban Head of Mission in Liberia holds meeting with Head of Security.

Monrovia, September 2, 2021 - The Head of the Cuban Mission in Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a working meeting with the Head of Security Mr. Peter Teah, with whom she had the opportunity to exchange on issues of interest to both parties.

Among the topics to be discussed at the meeting was the protection and security of the Cuban diplomatic headquarters.

Monrovia, August 30, 2021 - The Cuban Embassy in Monrovia had the privilege of receiving part of the working team of the Vice President of Liberia who had a cordial exchange with the Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.

Monrovia, August 12, 2021.- Head of the Cuban Mission in Liberia received members of the Progressive Students Alliance (PROSA), a university party movement that has its roots in the political thought of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

HeyLove Mark, president of PROSA, explained the political projection and genesis of his organization, and expressed his admiration for the figure of the Commander-in-Chief and what he means for the countries of Africa and the world.

Head of Cuban mission receives Liberian students studying in Cuba.

Monrovia, August 4, 2021.- This afternoon, the Cuban Embassy in Liberia received the visit of two of the Liberian students who are studying Medicine in Cuba through the Scholarship Plan offered by the Cuban government as part of the cooperation with the African country.

Francis Mahweah Jr. and Edvida B. Davies had a clear and cordial exchange with the Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera where they showed all that Cuban solidarity is capable of achieving.

Head of Cuban Mission in Liberia held exchange with Liberian philanthropist

Monrovia, August 3, 2021 - The Head of the Cuban Mission in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, held an exchange with MacDella Cooper, Liberian philanthropist and one of the leaders in the struggle for the empowerment of women.

The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere where they exchanged on the situation of women in different parts of the world and the interest in continuing to work for the empowerment of women in the West African country.
